Air compressor filters and separators
AIRnet - Compressed Air Piping System

Description
Atlas Copco filters and separators are premium OEM components designed to maximize equipment lifespan and efficiency. Air filters block dirt and particulate matter, while oil separators and coalescing filters remove oil aerosols and moisture, guaranteeing outlet air purity and minimal pressure drop.
Key Components and their Functions
- Air Filters: Designed with either pleated media for dry particulates or wrapped media for wet environments. They capture atmospheric dust and debris before it enters the compressor element, ensuring clean air intake and preventing premature wear.
- Oil Separators: Essential for oil-injected screw compressors, these extract oil mist from the compressed air, returning it to the compressor element. Atlas Copco’s separators are designed to drop oil content to as low as 2 ppm to 3 ppm, and feature built-in grounding to prevent electrostatic discharges and the risk of internal fires.
- Coalescing Filters & Water Separators (UD+, DD+, PD+): These inline filters remove liquid water and oil aerosols. Water separators use centrifugal force to remove droplets, while coalescing filters capture tiny aerosols into larger drops for draining.
- Activated Carbon Filters: Used to absorb hydrocarbon vapors and odors for high-purity air requirements, ensuring consistent performance over an extended service lifetime.

Benefits
Atlas Copco air compressor filters and separators safeguard your equipment from dirt, dust, and oil contamination. They optimize air purity (down to 2 ppm oil carryover), minimize pressure drops for lower energy costs, and prevent component wear, ultimately extending your compressor’s lifespan.
Key Benefits of Filters and Separators
- Energy Savings: Proper filtration and low-pressure drop mean the compressor doesn’t have to work as hard, directly cutting your operational power costs.
- Equipment Protection: Trapping dust prevents scoring on delicate compressor rotors, bearing housing seizures, and premature oil degradation.
- Superior Air Purity: Air/oil separators condense and capture oil mist, keeping oil carryover down to an absolute minimum. This protects sensitive downstream production equipment and end products.
- Extended Service Life: Advanced glass fiber and fleece media maximize dirt-holding capacity, allowing for longer intervals between servicing.
Specific Filter and Separator Types
- Air Filters: Block airborne dust and particulates (down to ≤ 10 μ m) before they reach the compressor element, maintaining optimal rotor clearances and air output.
- Oil Filters: Remove contaminants from the compressor fluid, protecting bearings and moving parts from abrasive wear.
- Oil/Air Separators: Provide multi-stage separation (cyclone action, flow direction changes, and micro-filtration) to strip oil from the compressed air before it leaves the system, returning it to the element.
- Line Filters & Oil-Water Separators: Coalesce residual aerosols/water and treat condensate to keep the air system clean and comply with environmental wastewater regulations.
